Guernsey CIOS
The Occupation Society was formed
in 1961 to study all aspects of the German military occupation
of the British Channel Islands during the Second World War. The
society organises guided tours, excursions and talks throughout
the Islands and France. It also continues to build up an
extensive sound, documentary and photographic archive. Practical
projects include the restoration of the Naval Signals H.Q.
bunker at St. Jacques on the outskirts of St. Peter Port. |

Jersey Heritage Trust
The Trust was founded in 1981.
The Trust is an independent organisation that receives an annual grant
from the States of Jersey to support its running costs.
Admission income from visitors and support from sponsors are
also vital to keep it operating.
Here in Jersey,
the Trust is
responsible for the Island's major historic sites, award-winning
museums and public archives and hold collections of artefacts,
works of art, documents, specimens and information relating to
Jersey's history, culture and environment. |

Jersey War Tunnels tells the true story

Fortress Study Group The Fortress Study Group is the only international society
concerned with the study of all aspects of military architecture and
fortifications and their armaments, especially works constructed to
mount and resist artillery.
The group was formed in 1975 at Pembroke College, Oxford to
provide an opportunity for those interested in fortifications and
military architecture to meet, get to know one another and publish
their work. |

Jersey Heritage Holidays

The Adolf Guns -
40,6cm SK C/34 at Trondenes, outside Harstad, North Norway. The
Battery is today one of the best preserved in the entire
Atlantic Wall. It is open for visitors. Out of season - booking
required. Guided tours 2008; From 16 June to 15 August at 1100,
1300 and 1500 Meet at the gate to Trondenes military camp.
